The Dress!

Trends, cost, your body shape, your location... the dress is widely considered the most important part of the wedding.

There is a lot to consider for your dress, firstly, your budget. Set your budget and don't stray from it. Set it tight, and refuse to see dresses outside of your budget. You'll avoid disappointment, because if "The Dress" is a thousand dollars above your budget, you'll try and rationalise spending the extra grand and you wont find a dress that's as good as that budget-busting gown. So stick to your budget!

Here are a few trends from my favorite Bridal Couture designers and the Red Carpet. These gowns might not be within your budget but your local dress maker can help you create a gown inspired by your favorites, to suit your body shape and colours.

I adore this dress, worn by Taylor Swift at the recent CMA awards.
It would look equally gorgeous in silver and white.

Emma Watson at the Harry Potter Premiere recently.
This gown would look stunning in gold, beige, white or ivory.

Uma Thurman wears a corset, A-line with ostrich feather detail.
I love the softness of the dress with the classic sweet-heart neck line.

Don't forget that underneath these gorgeous gowns, you're not going to be wearing your every day undies and t-shirt bra. Different dresses will require different undergarments. Be sure to do your homework on the right type of lingerie for under your Wedding dress. The right bra and knickers will make sure there are no bulgey bits and back fat! If your worried about Hubby seeing you in the Bridget Jones type suck-me-in knickers, you can always slip into the bathroom to change into your Wedding Night Naughty Lingerie!

Hilary Swank
Don't be afraid of colours! Gwen Stefani wore a John Galliano dress, similar to Hilary Swank above but in Pink.

Replace the black with an ivory and this would be to-die-for.

Simple dress with a square bodice, note the necklace!
Whatever shape dress you like from the magazines, forget it! Bridal wear looks vastly different on the body. Throw all the ideas out of your mind before your head to the first boutique.
